Please Help

Terms

Last updated 2 August 2026

The short version. Please Help shows information you wrote to whoever finds the person wearing it. It is not a tracker, not an alarm, and not a medical or emergency service. It only does anything when a human being finds them and looks.

What the service is, and what it is not

Please Help is a software service, and only a software service. We host a web page for a person you nominate, and we publish exactly the words you choose to put on it. When a tag is tapped with a phone or its QR code is scanned, that page opens on whoever's phone did the scanning. That is the whole of what we do. We do not attend, collect, transport, supervise, monitor, check on or care for anybody, and we are not part of any chain of assistance beyond displaying the page.

Whether anybody actually helps is not something we control or can promise. It depends on a member of the public noticing the tag, choosing to scan it, being willing to read the page and then choosing to act on it. That is goodwill, freely given by a stranger. We have no relationship with that person, no authority over them and no way to make them do anything. Please do not buy this on the understanding that help is guaranteed, because it is not, and nobody honestly selling you something like this could tell you otherwise.

It is important that you understand the limits before you rely on it:

  • It is not a tracker. There is no GPS. We cannot tell you where somebody is. A location only ever reaches you if a finder chooses to share it.
  • It is not an alarm. It cannot call anyone by itself and it cannot detect a fall. If nobody finds the person, nothing happens.
  • It is not a medical device. It displays information you wrote. It does not monitor, diagnose or treat anybody.
  • It is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 999.
  • It is not a rescue, collection or delivery service. We do not go anywhere and we do not send anyone. Nobody at Please Help is notified to attend, and there is no team standing by. What happens is that a page opens on a stranger's phone.
  • It is not a care service or a substitute for supervision. It does not reduce anybody's need for care, and it should not change any decision about how much supervision a person needs.
  • The information on the page is yours, not ours. We do not write it, check it, verify it or keep it up to date. If a phone number on a page is out of date, the page will show the out-of-date number, because that is what it was told to show.

What we need from you

You are responsible for what goes on the page being accurate and current — particularly medication and allergies, where something out of date is worse than nothing. Keep it up to date, and review it whenever their circumstances change.

Only put someone else's details on a page if you have the right to do so — because you are their carer, their family, or you have their agreement.

Price and renewal

Nothing is on sale yet. We are not taking payments and no order can be placed on this site today. Nothing in this section about price, renewal, delivery or cancellation applies to anybody until we announce that bands are on sale. It is set out here so you can read it before you commit to anything.

Please Help will be £29.99 a year per person, the bracelet included and renewing yearly, or £99 once per person with no renewals ever. Both are priced per person rather than per tag, so one plan covers every tag that person wears rather than each tag separately. Extra tags are sold separately as goods. The £99 plan is registered to one named person and is not transferable.

If you stop paying

The important part of the page stays live permanently: the person's name, the condition a stranger should know about, and your contact number, on any tag we have ever sold. We are not willing to switch off a vulnerable person's tag to chase a renewal.

What stops is your own access to change it. While a yearly plan is lapsed the page is read-only: you cannot alter the details, add a contact or set up another tag against that person, and scan alerts, location sharing and the message thread with the finder pause. Renewing restores all of it. The £99 plan never lapses.

Cancelling and refunds

When bands do go on sale: because you will be buying at a distance, you will have 14 days from receiving your order to change your mind and get your money back, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Return it in a resaleable condition. That is on top of your normal rights if something arrives faulty or is not as described, which nothing here affects.

You can cancel the annual renewal at any time. It will not renew again, and the core page stays live as described above.

Using it properly

Do not put anything on a page that is unlawful, abusive, or that identifies someone who has not agreed to it. We can suspend a tag that is being misused, and we log scans so that abuse can be traced.

Where we stand on liability

We will do our best to keep the service running, but we cannot promise that it will never be unavailable, that a finder's phone will be able to get online, that they will scan the tag at all, or that a phone will read it. The product is a way of passing on information. It is not a guarantee that anybody will be found, helped, reached or reunited, and it is not a promise about what any member of the public will do.

What we are responsible for is the software: hosting the page, showing the fields you chose to show to whoever opens it, and sending you the alerts described in these terms. We are not responsible for what a finder does or does not do, for whether anybody scans the tag, for the accuracy of anything written on a page, for the actions of the emergency services or anyone else, or for a decision anybody makes after reading a page. So far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss, injury, harm or expense arising from those things rather than from our software.

Two things we are not attempting to disclaim, because it would be unlawful to and we would not want to. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected by anything written here.
